February 26, 1859

This morning I take my pen in hand to finish the letter.

Ma told me to ask you how far that you live from the meeting houses around, and how far do you live from Tom and Bill.

Tell Tom to write to us.

Cousin James Cook said that you and Tom and Bill has slighted him.  He said to write to him.  He has cut his hand very bad.  The little finger is off.  It is well now.

I was at the party last night and there was sixty or seventy persons there.  I want you to write to us.

I don’t expect that you can read it, so I will close.

So good-bye, Harmon.
