I see and the camera records. These simultaneous events are not the same. The camera has an inflexible lens and collects photons dispassionately. The human eye constantly changes focus and aperture to modify the light and shadows so the brain can enjoy vistas with juicy emotion. My job is to tease out the truth of what the camera collected and I felt when I clicked the shutter. I do that by using a digital darkroom. It is a sublime, satisfying experience to capture a uniquely experienced moment of time and share it with others time and again.
